|California||The Great Possibilities of California and Cuba||Cuba|
The "Great Possibilities of Cuba" was the theme of the Cuban Pavillion in the 1939 World's Fair. Cuba has been off the radar screen of many USA citizens since 1960. For over 40 years, except during President Carter's Administration, travel to Cuba by USA citizens and permanent residents has been severely limited. Even today, Cuba is listed as a country hostile to the United States.
However, times are changing. Licensed sales of food and medicine by USA individuals and companies have been permitted since 2000 when President Clinton signed the Farm Bill in October, 2000. Licensed travel for humanitarian efforts has also increased significantly. Cooperation in fields such as hurricane monitoring and HIV/AIDS (see Cuba AIDS Project) has allowed frequent sincere people to people interaction between ordinary Cuban and USA citizens.
We believe California has an important role to play in modern Cuba in the New Millennium. We invite you to peruse this website, subject to its terms and privacy conditions, and work with California Cuba and Havana Bay Corporation., to attain new friendships, cooperation, trade and travel between California and Cuba.
